Ken Deemer
Ken Deemer has partnered with leaders to build high impact organizations for more than 30 years – as a venture capitalist, board member, advisor and leadership coach. Certified in several coaching modalities, he works with leaders and teams to help them become more effective and achieve breakthrough performance.
Trained as an engineer, Ken has more than 25 years of experience as a venture capitalist, investing in and serving on the boards of several dozen companies where he has advised CEOs on strategy and leadership. He served as General Partner of Interven Partners and was Co-Founder, Chairman, and President of the Tech Coast Angels, (www.techcoastangels.com), one of the largest and most active angel investor groups in the country.
As a philanthropist, Ken co-founded and served as Chairman of Los Angeles Social Venture Partners (www.lasvp.org) a group of professionals who contribute their time, money, and expertise to help nonprofits expand their capacity and impact. He serves on the boards of Environmental Charter Schools and the Los Angeles Center of Photography and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Manhattan Beach.
Earlier in his career, he was co-founder of a direct marketing company, marketing manager of a computer peripherals company and an engineer with Hughes Aircraft Company.
Mr. Deemer holds BS degrees in Physics and Electrical Engineering from MIT and an MBA, with distinction, from Carnegie-Mellon University. He holds coaching certifications from the International Coach Federation (ICF) and Marshall Goldsmith Stakeholder Centered Coaching and a Directors’ Training Certification from UCLA. His wife, Candy, is an author and executive coach. They live in the Los Angeles area and have three sons.
