Alexis Feringa, ICF-ACC
Alexis Feringa provides executive coaching facilitation, and leadership development services to public and private organizations. In coaching, her passion is to partner with clients to help them transform into happy, authentic, successful leaders. She accomplishes this by engaging in deliberate, intentional conversations with clients to identify and overcome obstacles that are interfering with their ability to perform at their potential. Competencies frequently addressed in coaching include establishing and sustaining high performing teams; discovering and maintaining one’s authentic leadership presence; learning techniques for having difficult, yet constructive conversations; developing skills for giving and accepting feedback.
Alexis is a highly skilled experienced facilitator and excels in designing, developing, and facilitating half-day meetings as well as multi-day retreats. With her clients, she co-creates agendas and approaches to ensure the events are engaging while achieving the desired business outcomes. In her work, she has helped teams hold difficult, uncomfortable, yet critical conversations—getting the “unspoken” into the room. Clients have noted that, after these meetings, the team dynamics and team performance have improved significantly.
She provides consulting and team coaching services to successful businesses facing challenges associated with growth. In this capacity, she has assisted leaders of growing businesses establish more formal organizational capabilities and processes that are critical to their continued growth and success. These capabilities include decision-making, conflict resolution, and effective meeting management. In addition, she works with the leadership team to establish and/or clarify roles and responsibilities, decision rights, accountability, and performance goals/expectations.
She spent more than 20 years at Booz Allen Hamilton, the last six as a Vice President. She had P&L responsibility for more than $70M of professional services businesses across Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, and Civil Agency clients. The consulting services Alexis and her staff provided included strategic planning, business planning, policy development, strategic communications, training and development, and program management. She was also involved in leadership development programs. Alexis contributed to the development of the Leadership Excellence program, including a module focused on women leaders.
Alexis holds a Master’s Degree from The Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy. She also studied in Caen, France and Beijing, China. She is a graduate of Georgetown University’s Leadership Coaching Certification Program and holds the Associate Certified Coach (ACC) credential from the International Coaching Federation. She is certified in The Leadership Circle Profile and Team Management Systems Profile. In addition, she has completed courses in Team Coaching with Corentus, Facilitation Design & Modalities with the Ringel Group, the Cynefin Framework, as well as Adult Development Coaching through Coaching Rising as well as with the Miro Group. She is also experienced at debriefing the DiSC/PIAV profiles.
