The Voice in Your Head Is a Liar

There’s a voice many women leaders hear. It whispers: “You’re not good enough.” It murmurs: “They’ll see through you.” It questions: “Do you really belong here?”

No one says this out loud in the workplace. But in coaching sessions, I hear it all the time. Brilliant, accomplished women—leading companies, commanding teams, shaping the future—are quietly fighting this battle inside their own heads.

Truth: That voice is a liar.

It is not the voice of reality. It is the voice of fear. Of old patterns. Of expectations that were never yours to carry.

And here’s the other truth: You don’t have to keep listening.

As a leader, you are already good enough. You are where you are because you earned it. Because others recognized your capability and trusted you with the responsibility.

The real challenge isn’t whether you’re qualified—it’s whether you’ll silence the voice long enough to lead at your full strength.

So here’s my call to women leaders:

  • Stop negotiating with the voice.
  • Stop letting it set the terms of your confidence.
  • Recognize it for what it is: background noise.

Because when you shut it down, you lead with clarity, courage, and conviction. And that’s exactly what your organization, your team, and your future demands.

Leadership is too important to let a lie run the show.

Have a great weekend everyone!
